CIVIL ENGINEERING FORUM
An association of students and the Professors, this rising society aims at developing a culture of knowledge and growth amongst the members of School of Infrastructure, IIT Bhubaneswar. The society forms a platform for healthy interaction among the faculty and students, thereby enhancing their prospect of learning from the best. The underlying mission is to create dynamic trained professionals to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the current problems in the field of Civil Engineering.
The Patron of the society is the Head of School of Infrastructure, Dr. Dinakar Pasla. Society is headed by a President and a Vice-President, who works to ensure a thorough communication between the President and the members of the executive council. The executive council consists of the General secretary, Joint secretary and the secretaries working as a link between students of School of Infrastructure and the society.
The society promotes industry- academia collaboration helping students work on a state-of-art technology through competitions, workshops, industrial visits and invited talks. A general awareness of career and research opportunities ahead of the students is harnessed through the society.
Research:
The faculty have been involved in fascinating research stretching across a vast range of domains- Structural, Geotechnical, Transportation, Hydrology, Environmental along with incorporating recent areas of interest such as Machine learning and IoT. Developing sustainable solutions for major problems through the research projects is headed by the faculty and assisted by research scholars and sometimes by the students of SIF. The culture of learning fostered through these projects presents students with the opportunity of learning profusely on their areas of interest.
